At Creative 23, we had the privilege of collaborating with The Academy at St James on a transformative rebranding project. Inspired by the school's rich history and core values, our team embarked on a journey to create a modern and meaningful identity that resonated with pupils, staff, and the community.
Drawing inspiration from the dove shape found in the school's iconic church chair, we infused elements of heritage and symbolism into the new logo design. The dove, representing peace and unity, became the logo's centrepiece, embodying the school's ethos of inclusivity and harmony.
In addition to the logo, we developed six core values for The Academy at St James, each represented by a unique symbol within the logo's design. These values, ranging from resilience to respect, serve as guiding principles for students and staff, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
To further enhance the school's identity, we introduced 'Jimmy Giraffe' as the official mascot, symbolising curiosity, growth, and a sense of adventure. Jimmy Giraffe quickly became a beloved figure among students, adding a playful and spirited element to the school's branding.
Aligned with The Academy at St James' motto, 'Aspire, Achieve, Believe,' our designs embodied the spirit of ambition, accomplishment, and belief in oneself. Through meticulous attention to detail and a collaborative approach, our designs seamlessly merged tradition with innovation, breathing new life into The Academy at St James' visual identity. The rebranding project not only received unanimous approval from the school committee but also sparked a renewed sense of pride and belonging within the school community.
